Amazing autumn colours on a grey day

Took a trip to the Winkworth Arboretum and even though the day was overcast there were plenty of colours on display.

All shots taken with a Nikon 50mm 1.4.

The last is by far my favourite. I've tried to shoot trees like this, but they always seem messy and lacking in composition.

Thanks for the comments guys, number 5 is my fave too - I just wish there had been a bit more sun to make the colours really pop.

I popped into Winkworth yesterday on the strength of your thread. Luckily I did because I think all the leaves will be gone after today's wind and rain.

I think they could do with a levels/curves tweak, to try to improve the clarity.

I was surprised to see the flower as well!

I did do quite a bit to bring out the colours, but as title says, it was a very grey day.

Having said, others seem happy with the results
