I bought one of these recently, Amazon had it on one of their "Hot deals" so I only paid £15.:)

I thought I'd let you guy's and gals know that it really is quite a nice bag. It's every bit as good as my National Geographic bag which cost four times as much and comparable to the Lowe Pro series of bags which are much more expensive.

Anyone looking for a decent, affordable back pack should seriously consider one of these.
 
I bought one in Feb. Within a month the waist strap buckle had broken, and the inside has little to no structural integrity. I'd not buy another.
 
Just been looking at this bag and was about to buy. Mixed reviews here anyone else any views of this bag
 
I bought one in the Amazon Black Friday week...but not seen it yet as the wife wants to give it to me as a Christmas pressie - even though I paid for it :thinking:

To be honest, I only bought it to put my old 350D in, since my 5DIII will be tucked up in a Lowepro slingshot.

I can't testify one way or the other with regards to durability, it's only just arrived, but for £15.00 I was impressed.
 
The pictures look good and for the money i think it's worth a punt . Anything is going to be better than my old day sack
 
iv had this backpack for around a year now and i love it i do mostly motorsport events rallys 99% of the time and my bag have taken a battering from rocks and evil weather and only problem i had was i forgot to close one of the tripod straps and lost it, i keep ally my filters in it my 17-55mm my 50 1.4mm canon 60D with 70-200mill on it 28-105mm and 450ii flash and still got some room

I got one in the £15 Black Friday deal too - but only to use for storage. No way I would use this bag as a backpack - for a start there is no space for other non camera gear, so nowhere to store a jacket or whatever else. It's also way too 'boxy' and uncomfortable and I would also have concerns about durability/ strength.

I have 2 other camera backpacks which only cost £10 to £15 more than the normal price of the amazon basics bag and for me are far better suited for use as a camera backpack. (Tamron Adventure 6 (£19 used, it's £36 new) and a Kata bag (£35 new)). They are both similar and both have a top bit for non camera stuff like a jacket but I tend to use the Kata bag more in winter as it has a tripod attachment on the side.

Ok found it on eBay for £35 going to have search for a used one first .waiting until after Christmas now before I buy anything
 
The Amazon backpack was my first camera backpack. For the money it is good value.

It's surprisingly spacious and I managed to put two bodies in with several lenses and a flash.

That said, six months later of regular use and it was starting to look worse for wear. The padded shoulder strap had wore down showing the inside padding. The top carry handle was looking like it was going to snap. Oh and there's no rain cover (unsurprisingly at this price!) so you can't really use it outdoors in the rain. A tripod holder would have been nice too.

To be honest for what you pay I think it's fine. I upgraded to a Lowepro Vertex which is in a totally different league but then I could buy 5x Amazon backpacks for the same price as the Vertex.

A few questions, if I may?

I can find the Tamrac at that price, but not a Kata Backpack with tripod straps at £35, which model is it?

What make/size tripod do you have comfortably attached to it?

And ........ why do you carry a tripod more in the winter ? :D

This is the one I got - Kata DR-465i Backpack - looks like the price has gone up though as amazon had it for £35 and it's now £58 (!) from them and £39.99 from a markeplace seller (CameraKing).

The tripod I attach is the Slik Sprint Pro II GM (47cm folded length)

I carry the tripod more in winter as I use the backpack for walking around town and it gets dark soon after 3pm, whereas in summer it stays light until almost 10pm. So I use it for floodlight buildings, monuments, the castle, sunset shots, the Xmas fair and big wheel etc.

But if you are patient camera bags seem to be one of the few products you can find used on ebay at reasonable prices - my Adventure 6 was £19 inc postage and it looks as though it has been hardly used at all.

The Adventure 6 is quite small though - I have a small camera (Sony A37) but if you have a bigger dslr you may want to go for the Adventure 7 or even the Adventure 9 - these are obviously more expensive though. You can check sizes here: http://www.tamrac.com/f_adventurebackpacks.htm

I'm actually looking for a new bag as my Lowepro 300 Stealth is simply too small. My goodness, I'm either completely out of touch or there is a massive amount of snobbery regarding a DSLR camera bag. I actually looked at a Billingham!!!! "Heavens to Murgatroyd," it was just a bag:(

Oh heck, maybe I'll just run with a 650 AW as they are well made and not to bad nearly new. Even some of the 'lookalikeys' seem really super quality. And, as the OP said, the Amazon one is pretty good, a friend has one and he is well pleased. Yep I don't need a label on the bag for all to see, just a big shoulder bag that takes all my gear.

Now how hard can that be?
 
Not sure its snobbery is it! I think the majority would like to carry there very expensive camera equipment in something that you no wont fail if you should drop it or if it should throw it down with rain!! I have a kata 1 2 3 go and I no that my gear is safe and sound for what an extra 40 quid!!
And I'm no snob I just no I can't afford to replace my equipment!!
 
The kata 123 go 30 is under £40 at Amazon. ;)
