American Goldfinch

Another daily visitor to the garden. This one is a bit scraggy compared to the others that feed but the younger, brighter ones are too flighty compared to this old guy. Some of the younger birds are really a vibrant yellow.

Excellent shot mate, spot on focus & really clear & vibrant colour in the plumage - pity about the grey background & the feeder but excellent shot anyway

WOW!! The yellow is stunning!! You wouldnt miss that fella is he paid a visit to your garden would you. great capture.

Sadly the background is made up a huge tree and the neighbours garage, so it's always gonna be a bit dull. Add to the fact you only see them first and last thing of the day also doesn't help with the light. Having the feeder is the only way to get a photo of these little cuties, and it has to be a specific feeder and food. Considering the food is free they are really fussy Thanks for the comments.
