amyone own a D3s? you will want one after this video

Great video, especially the part with the bears, but didn't see anything extraordinary technically...

I mean, it doesn't look any different than a 5DmkII or 7D video to me :thinking:

edit: still makes me want to go out and try the video and fail :D
 
Have to agree. It is a great video, but that's probably more down to the skills of the guy who took it rather than his equipment. I'm sure he could take the same video on other quality cameras.
 
Great video but it doesn't make me want to buy a D3s (doesn't mean to say I wouldn't like one though).

The WOW factor is in mainly the subjects and editing .. you could do that on most decent DSLR's these days if you have the necessary skills and location.
 
The D3s has little to do with it - apart from the high ISO shots. A great photographer - wonderful editing and superb choice of music matched to picture are what make this - a great team effort. The actual camera used - well it could have been almost any video camera in these skilled hands.
 
Charlotte Church's new video was shot on a 7D and 5DMk2, slightly different subjects but a quality video just the same.

Bit like photography really, its not really the camera but the few inches behind the viewfinder that counts.

There are other cameras, that can shoot full 1080p HD whereas Nikon can't. There are cameras that have 21 / 24 mp which D3s can't. If the person can't make the use of it, no camera will make it happen.
