An Egret!

Just seen the other post of a heron (I think). I don't ever take pictures of birds, this is my only one so far...

Looks like a Great White Egret to me, though the bill is very dark, you an just make out some yellowing near the head. I also think you can see the beginnings of the long plumes coming on the back :shrug: I don't think it's a little Egret but who knows...

If that's your only one, then that's pretty dam good for a first

I'm no 'bird' expert, but I think I agree with Jo, a Great White Egret. The Little Egret has yellow feet.

Goes to show what I know! Egret it is then. Snapped around Aberdeen harbour in Hong Kong whilst it was fishing, although it never took the plunge and dived in.
