The 3 colours on the outer dial are for reading off the values when they are lined up with the needle.
As the cover has what looks like a blue mark, upper right, so thats the mark for when the cover is closed.
Which one is used for camera as opposed to movie, red or yellow.

Just a guess, but as the Movie apertures are in red I would guess that that's the colour to use. Yellow being the remaining one than that'll be for when the shield is open. But where you line those marks up to is anyone's guess
 
If I'm not mistaken, I think the yellow marker was only used when you attached a light cell onto the back of the meter. But to tell you the truth, it's been many, many years since I've come across a Hanimex meter.
 
I have got one of those somewhere, it still seems to work and it agrees with the digital one when I put them together one day!
