Tis a male Marsh Harrier I'd say Weggy.
 
Thanks both of you! Well happy with that, as that's the pair for me now. Male and female look pretty different then?
 
The female is a dark reddy brown as opposed to the predominant grey of the male - it looks a completely different bird. In fact that's the situation with most Harrier types I think.

Oh and I also need a longer lens... the 100-400mm just hasn't got the reach for these shots... time to get saving!

I'm sure Kers has a 600 with my name on it :D Just not sure the bank manager or Mrs agree :bang:

Would never ditch the 100-400. Love it - a very versatile lens (y)
