For those who have attempted wide-angle macro, many wide angle lenses will have a very short minimum focus distance - but not short enough! You can add an extension tube to reduce it further but you will need to use a very short tube (only a few mm's) and these are difficult to find, especially in modern lens mounts (such as EF).
I managed to find an old 5mm FD mount one but that means I am limited to using FD lenses (not necessarily a bad thing). This looks to offer an out-of-the-box solution with modern optics.
