Hi all,

After a huge order of camera stuff today I have decided to continue in this fashion and get a tripod as well.

Requirements are as follows -

- Lightweight (will be attached to the back of a Flipside 300)
- Needs to support a gripped 7D with 70-200 F4
- Priced around £100-ish, can go higher
- Reliable
- Consider a 3 way head or a ball head, never used a ball head and not 100% sold on them as yet

Totally happy to buy second hand, in fact, I'd prefer to.

Any recommendations? I've read various tripod threads on here about Red Snapper ones but am not sold, I've had one before and I had the same problem with the plastic piece that locks the legs in snap on me.

Recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

3kg max load?
Not brilliant, but then it is using cut-price CF legs, both type and diameter.

The Manfrotto 190xPro is probably your best bet, around 1.8kg and can hold about 5kg so plenty for the 7D. Anything else really starts to get expensive if you want to reduce the weight.

Redsnapper are another option if they do a similar tripod go the 190xPro.

I have an old Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod.......contact me ! I will have to look it out to see what model it is.

The modern Giottos is not as stiff. I want a bit more than £100 though. It was over £300 several years ago.
