Another Win7 Problem

Just noticed my OS C-Drive is almost full - "that can't be right," I thought, until I noticed my Personal User-Account folders were all contained on the C-Drive, including my 'working' Photographs folder, Video folder and Music folder.

The 'D' Drive partition where I assumed they were located is completely empty...

How can I copy my user-account folders from the OS C-Drive to the D-Drive and still have them visible on the start pop-up menu?
 
In Windows Explorer, right click on the folder yuou want to move, keep the button held down and then drag to the new location. All relevant links get updated.
 
I had hoped it would be that simple... but the shortcuts don't seem to appear - instead I have to add the folder to the relevant 'Library' manually by right-clicking etc etc...
 
I don't have my Win7 desktop handy at the moment, but in previous versions, if you right click on the My Documents folder and look in Properties, you could choose the 'Move...' button and it would ask you if you wanted to move the contents of all your My Documents folder to another place. That way, My Documents will automatically point to the new location.
I'm pretty sure you can still do that in Win7.
 
in win7, go to the library folder, right click --> properties --> select 'include folder', and you can choose the new library located on your D drive.
(or have I missed the point?!!)

Yep done that - took a while to realise it, that's all - I was just initially phased that the Documents and User-Accounts folders were located on the smaller of the two partitions which also happens to hold the OS and program folders, rather than the logical place which is the larger (and up until now) empty partition.
I had no problems copying all my work to the other 'drive' - I just wanted all the start-menu shortcuts to still work.
 
yeah windows will always default to the C drive, it cant assume you have anything else.

personally i would of binned the D partition and enveloped the space into the C drive, but thats personal preference..

Thanks for that, didn't know it worked in XP either.

Me too saves hassle, although I do see the point if the OS goes tit up.
