Hi,
A couple of friends are doing a bike track day at Rockingham soon and they have invited me along to take some pic's. Does any have any tips or advice for either equipment to bring or the venue i.e. best locations for images and if the local photographers are friendly.

Camera: Canon EOS650
Lens 1: 10-22mm
Lens 2: 17-70mm
Lens 3: 120-400mm
Tripod + Monopod.

through fence at tarzan
grandstands.

best location: cadwell park, mallory park, oulton park, brands hatch...

depending on the policy in force on the day, you may be allowed on the pit wall.

take 17-70 & 120-400 + monopod.

Brilliant, thanks for the advice. Having done a bit of research it appears that Rockingham doesn't read well for photographers due to the fencing. Fingers crossed I'll be in the garage with the guys prepping the bikes, so may get some "workshop" style shots.

Hi, I went a few weeks back, same as you with a couple of mates doing a bike trackday. TBH I wasn't a fan of the track as far as taking photo's as the only real places you can get to, is as said, pit wall, on top of the pits (there is standing viewing up there) and as said round Tarzan but you're looking through the fence at that corner.

I just used my 100-400 for all the track shots.

some of my pics from that day. (still learning so excuse the quality :D)
