Hi,
Has anyone out there any covered any ski jumping events? I'm going to the ski jumping in Slovenia in March, and although I'm not a pro, I'd like to shoot the event. I've got VIP passes so should have good views. I'll be using my own camera. a Canon 1D Mk II, and have a Canon 70-200 f2.8, but not sure if this will be enough.
Can anyone give any guidance relating to lenses, Camera settings etc
Is it worth getting a teleconverter, or hiring a bigger lens for the event?
This is my first post on this forum. Wish I'd found it earlier because you guys seem to be very helpful when it comes to shating information, so thanks in advance for any help given.

Funnily enough, I was watching ski jumping on telly today, and wondering what it would be like to shoot.
My thoughts were that you could do quite well with a 70-200 if you can get up the side above the landing point.

There is a guy on POTN who shoots it professionally.

Can't remember his name but I'm sure you could find him.

Very helpful if I remember correctly.

Yep that's him - cheers Andy.
