I know in film days they were one of very few cameras that could be used on Golf courses because they were so quite.
If I had the money now, I'd have a Mamiya 7 kit like a shot.
What's this film days nonesense? It's still around!
Steve.
They both look almost identical except the 6 is black only and folds.
I think Mamiya 6 partially folds; in that the lens goes in part way
while Six is the old type folding camera
BTW, is there any technical reason why interchangeable lens cant be had on a folding bellow type body
I did have a thread joxby but I'm assuming it got nukes despite the fact that there are no completed listings or realistically priced mamiya 6 for sale anywhere, but that seems to be the way the forum is going. A realistic price for the 6 and it's lenses is almost impossible to work out, sales are so few and far between
Edit: ah..thanks Joxby..for 500 quids...I'll get it. Any idea of a possible source?
The only place you might get lucky is you know where..everywhere else is market value, which varies, £500 is very cheap comparatively...
Steve , thanks.
All the issues you mention is true for any camera; why cant it be done on a folder, if it can be done on a rigid body? At least the contaflex design ( one lens element detachable, the rest fixed). I think it can be done; its merely a matter of demand.
Are there shops which are reasonably priced and I can keep an eye out for....
Regularly check Ffordes and MXV Photographic and you may get lucky.
Steve.
MXV gone, aren't they?
That's a shock. They were great. I have just tried their website and it doesn't exist any more.
