Yes
I have always fancied having a go using a static light and now I see Yongnuo have produced the Yongnuo YN360 LED light Wand

Has anyone tried it out ?

Any good ?

Had seen a few reviews, that seem very positive, given the price. Just be careful, does not come with batteries, so you will need to figure that into your purchase.

There have been 3rd party options for a long while. Ive seen the cheaper wands and wanted one but have been waiting for this so thanks for the reminder. (y)

Yes you are right and I think its bloody crazy to sell something which you cannot use when you get it. I have found a seller on amazon who is selling the light, battery and charger for £78 - I got a friend to order for me who gas Amazon prime so I should get it to try on a couple of weddings this week-end

I've been looking at these since they were first announced - all the online chatter reckons they could be serious competition for the likes of the Ice Light.

Only trouble is that I work solo so without another pair of hands to hold and position the light then it kinda loses a lot of it's appeal.

Yes true. it does have a tripod stand so maybe use in on a light stand :)

To be honest we did not try it as much as I thought I would on the last two weddings. I did use it on a stair shot which I'll post here once the bride & groom have seen it.

It was bright and easy to handle being light but as others have said in reviews the on off switch is also the dial for power and it just presses in and is very easy to accidentally switch on in the bag. I put a pop bottle top over it to stop it happening. It also annoys me that it does not come with battery or charger but the kit I bought did but seemed to take ages to charge. The light sabre (As my wife calls it) certainly gets attention and is a talking point.

I'll post photo as I said and report back when I use it more :)
