Anyone use a crumpler bag for there DSLR ? I love there stuff and want one thats just big enough for my K-X and extra lens,

Can anyone recommend one - I like the look of the messenger boy and the muffin top but I'm unsure about size and they aren't well stocked where I live

thanks

I use a Pretty Boy XXL and reckon it would be a decent size for what you require.

Beware they do come up quite small in relation to the quoted size such as L, XL, XXL etc

Carry a Canon 40D with 17-55 lens attached and room for another lens too.
I store the camera longways, read long ago that the worst way to carry a camera is lens facing down, If you did carry it lens pointing down then there would be room for another lens as well

For an idea of size, I have a Messenger Boy 8000.

It will take my 5Dmk2 gripped with 24-105 (hood forward or reversed), flash gun and a rocket blower. Un-gripped, you can get a 70-200 F4 in there too. There's room for a couple of filter and a slim pocket at the front for other odds and sods too.

I had the largest Muffin Top when I had my 40D but it just wasn't big enough for the 5D.

Best thing to do is take a trip to one of their stores or someone who stocks them. I went down to London for my 2nd bag to test my kit in their bags and picked the bag came home and bought online. Then they opened a store in Manchester LOL.

If thats not possible take the internal measurments and get creatve with cardboard and make somthing the same size and see if your kit fits. The problem is you will buy the bag now to fit your camera + 1 lens then in a few month buy another lens or a flash gun and it doesn't fit so buy somthing a little bigger than what you currently need, I know people will go what the hell are you thinking but I used the extra space to carry a drink till I filled it. So I bought a new bag and it has a laptop pocket and that fits drinks in the photo pouch is water resistant so risk is limited.

Crumpler Muffin Top full photo backpack holds my Nikon D300S (gripped) with Siggy 120-300mm f/2.8 attached, with plenty of room down the downs for an Nikon 18-200, 1.4xTC, binoculars plus items in the 'lid' (up to a 15" laptop or just magazines. LCE stores stock Crumpler so why not go and have a browse/take your kit in to test-fit?

Go to Jacobs, buy an Tamron 18-270 and you will get a crumpler bag free.

I have a Messenger Boy 4000, that fits my 450D+grip with 15-85 lens along with a 430EXII flash and 70-210 USM telephoto.

I have a Muffin Top 7500, fits my D300s with 18-200VR attached in the middle, then two compartments either side, room for my 18-50 f2.8, plus bottle of water in two and sunglasses and mobile in the other two. Theres a pocket on the front for cleaning cloth etc. Looks great too.

Hi Paul, how big is the Ben's Pizza compared to the MT5500. I might be interested.

Muffin top full photo backpack here, 7d with sig 150-500 attached, 100 mm macro ,50mm, small laptop and all my gubbins. The only thing that would have been nice would have been a rain cover. Can buy these separately though I think. Very nice stylish bag that's well padded

Hi Paul - I am interested in the bag - as it was offered to me first !

I will try and PM you

thanks

I have a Messenger Boy 5500 which I use when I don't need my 70-200 and all the other rubbish I have in my main bag. Holds a 40D with 17-55 attached (hood reversed) plus 10-22 and 430EX II.
