Anyone used an auto open\close lens cap?

I spotted this odd lens cap on eBay and wondered if anyone has actually used one.

A family member has one on her LX5 and it works well, the standard lens cap is a small clip on one and is easily lost. Most compacts have a build in cap device so buyers of them expect one.

using a similar one [4 leaves not 3 though] on the fuji X10, great little device imo
