ok so i bought the foxsat-350gb pvr but how the hell do you move your recorded shows into a folder?

i can create the folder and i assumed id just be able to select a file then press move but move it never ever highlighted, what is going on?

Perhaps better asked in a different forum (digital spy perhaps...)

You need to press Media, then OPT+ then select File manager. I think you can only copy certain programmes that are not protected though as the green button has to be active (not greyed out on screen).
I have only managed to copy one program so far to a USB stick. Not the easiest system to operate I find.

i have come to the conclusion that you can only move items you put on there yourself through a usb into folders and you cant move recorded programs into different folders

We managed to copy a program recorded from CBBC as one of our friends was on it and that's the only thing so far I have done. Even the manual is pretty rubbish as it doesn't really explain much.
I will have another go and see if I can work it out - will let you know if I do.

OK - just had another go and it worked!
plugged in USB stick
Pressed Media
OPT+
File manager

THEN
pressed right arrow to move over to USB
pressed OK to select root of USB
pressed left arrow to go back to list of programs
Hey presto - green copy button is now active!
Just copied 'The boat that Guy built' over to usb

Even looks like I can copy films over as the green copy button is active for everything - thought some things were protected or is that just Sky?

sorry i guess i didnt explain what i wanted to do properly.

say i have 6 programs i recorded, its not that i want to copy them to a usb. i want to create a folder on the hard drive and move them all into said folder to organize them better.

Joe,

Create your folder e.g. "Films". Then whilst in File Manager, stay in Normal Mode (not edit mode). You should have the left and right panes showing your files on screen.

The path for both those panes initially will be something like HDD:/Video. You need to go to the right hand pane (right silver arrow on the remote) and select your folder. The path on the right hand side will now be HDD:/Video/Films.

Now when you switch back to the left side and highlight a file to go in that folder, the "move" function will no longer be greyed out. You can now switch to edit mode if you have multiple files to transfer.

Thanks Spuff - might have a look at that and reorganise my hard drive as well - seems a good idea
Sorry Joe, I thought you wanted to copy to usb
