Two things to try as I am not good at template editing:

Try calling page something different to 'blog' - ie VeroBlog as AF Pro has some weird templates.

Try changing the page template for that specific page.

so very very confused

considering tweaking front page so its a new shot every 3 secs but as is it works and imo looks good
