Im very fond of these passage waders, this is a juvenile Ruff.

You can almost see the concentration on its face as it looks for something juicy to eat...

great shot cuddy and i have to agree the wader do have an elegance about them . but its that type of bird im after now ive got my 600mm. minsmere rspb ive always found that the birds are to farway with the bigma so this year i could get some shots.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Byrhtnoth i used my canon 100-400 IS on a 30D, the bird was about 6 mts away and was quietly working its way along the shore.
