Two taken a couple of days ago . Trying to get some bird in flight shots. Used the 300 f4 lens hand held. Do they look over sharpened? Comments welcome.

Tis very difficult to capture birds in flight though so nicely done for getting the shots - some of the birds heading towards you next time please

I'd say that they do look slightly oversharpened - more evident in the 2nd shot (1st doesn't look too bad at all even though the sharpening levels look roughly the same - must just be the visible detail)

Thanks Mike, I thought that they might be over sharp. As regards them flying towards me, as soon as they see me they b....r off the other way

Have you tried scattering some food around you or even get someone to throw it in the air for you.
