Any advice on making this a little punchier when adapting from colour would be appreciated.
Many thanks

I’m guessing by your request that you’ve simply changed colour to greyscale?

It’d help if we knew what software you have access to. The options will be different in LR PS Affinity, Canon DPP, Nikon ?? Or phase 1 etc etc.

Thank you for your reply. I use photoshop, and on this occasion used the B&W layers component.

Well it’s not a method I’ve used for a few years, but you should be able to maximise its efforts.

However, the image itself was shot in a fairly soft light, the direction of which doesn’t help much either (broad lit).

If the subject was facing the light, the cheek facing camera would show a more natural modelling. And a harder light source would obviously add more drama.

I’d add that like the other portraits you shared, the key light is a lot lower than I’d recommend.

Have burnt in a little and added more space to the right. Thanks again
