Back Friendly Camera Strap

Yes
I am still using the Canon issue strap and I need to get a replacement but I want to find the best one for me.

I was at the physio the other day and had the most terrible shoulder ache the muscles were really tight. My back is not in great shape, I have lax ligaments and my back goes out really easy, just walking with poor posture can cause me pain. Problem with my shoulder was that I was out for about 2 hours with my camera, mostly shoulder slung (across my body) on that shoulder.

I now always use twin strapped bags and backpacks to spread weight evenly across my back and also to encourage good posture but what to use for a camera strap.

Most of the pro straps I have seen are still single shoulder, cross body straps and the only double shoulder harness I have come across seems to be designed to hold two cameras so I am unsure how it would balance the weight of just the one.

I have a really lightweight camera and I just can't imagine how much worse I would be if I upgraded!

Is there anyone out there who also has back issues that could recommend a good supportive and balanced strap system?

Have a look for a B-Grip, you can get them in a belt version for your waist or one that will attach to you bag and sit on your chest, might help a little bit with your back pain but are also very accessible :) how I've helped some how

I have serious back issues ( still recovering from a 5 1/2 operation on my lower spine in January), and have big trouble with straps. Round the neck straps are no good for me as the weight just pulls down and compresses my spine causing all sorts of pain, so it has to be a shoulder/sling strap.
Im currently using a Black Rapid RS Sport, and its seems to be ok. I carried my gripped D700 around all day on Saturday and had minimal discomfort

Is the RS Sport all neoprene or does it still have a webbing strap all the way round?

Still has the webbing strap, but the shoulder part is neoprene and quite large and comfortable. It also has the under arm strap to keep it in place.

Ah right, thanks for that
