Hi i am looking of taking photos of the family and was wonder where a good place to buy a backdrop. Also would i need to get all lighting etc???

My main aim is to take portraits off the children but i got no kit for it.

If someone could point me in the right direction this would be great.

Many Thanks

what sort of backdrop do you want? paper? cloth? muslin? PVC? painted?

How many portraits do you want to take? what sort? formal/informal?

my basic set up cost me £450ish and that is an entry level kit. (3x180W lights with softboxes and a 3m backdrop system with a plain white and green/blue mottled cloth drop)

As for cheap cloths i got some cheap bed sheets out of poundstrecher.:)
Also speak to flash in the pan, member on here sells cheaper flash lighting.:)

cheapest price I found a backdrop was around the £50 mark.

If it is just for occasional use, then an old (or even new) bedsheet pinned to the wall is better than nowt....

You can get a 3m x 6m Muslin for 39.98 inc delivery on ebay
