Anyone got some suggestions as to good places to buy them.

What type of backdrops are you looking for? I've got 4 backdrops and a stand which I'm looking to sell as I've upgraded to Lastolite Hilite.

I've a stand and black, white, lilac and chromakey blue. Not sure on the complete width of the stand as it's always been too wide to use all three sections but is approx 6ft across with just two of the three, so presume around 9ft at full extension (don't hold me to exact measurements).

The backdrops are heavy weight material and are unhemmed (you may choose to hem them - Though I've never bothered)

Cost me a total of £130 for the lot.... make me a sensible offer if you are interested....

I have the stand, just want the backdrops.

What size are yours? Need 3 metres across.

I use stable imaging.. can get a decent-ish backdrop for £33 and the delivery is pretty quick. Ive also used a bed sheet.. a double king deluxe for about £14 from Dunelm Mill. Its good for full body shots but you wont get the trail along the floor if you use the bed sheets. but they are good for knee upwards.

Regards, James

That's what I was planning on doing, how did you mount it though?

I used the Stable imaging frame which is 3.3metres by 2.8 metres. I then bought the sheet and some clamp grips from Focus DIY for £2.99 for 8, then set the frame up and clamped the sheet to the frame. Far easier to take it down and put a new one up rather than taking the whole thing apart and looping another one through.

For hanging sheets, Argos are doing a height adjustable Clothes Tidy Rail for £5.99, two side by side work really well for double sheets and you can turn one into a long adjustable rail, it has a couple of pieces on the ends that go over the top of a couple of small light stands really well.

Sheets are really cheep in Woolworths at the moment too - King Size for a fiver and Single for £3 !!

Only thing is I need to get more grips now so off to the DIY store a bit later :-D

There's a German seller on eBay with a fabric called Molleton which is a bit more specialised and fire retardant like Duvateen. 3m x 5m for £46.50 incl P&P -- you can buy by the metre and multiples of 5m lengths work out cheaper for the carriage.

Fleece fabric is meant to be a good choice, with regard to low creasing and reflectivity. Nekkid models might prefer it for rolling around on, too. :naughty:
