Yes
I'm looking for a hide, but I wanted something pretty portable that I can use for and hour or so whilst out walkink. I've seen the chair hides but they weigh a fair bit so I was looking at the bag hide - the lightweight ones only weigh just over a pound so I reckon I could keep it in my case.

Has anyone used the bad hide - good points/bad points.

Thanks.

What about a sheet of cammo netting - very small and light weight if you have a few branches to support it whilst out

I did contemplate a sheet of netting - wasn't sure how small the netting that I've seen would fold down though. The bag hide is, as I understand, a sheet of cotton material so should pack down pretty well.

I've got a 2man hide but don't use it that often. It weighs 17lb in the bag and the problem with pretty well any hide is you lose all round visibility which is desirable for bird togging to see what's going on around you.

I'd agree with the sheet of cammo netting idea - easily strung acoross a hedgerow or between a couple of branches. Pigeon shooters (bang bang -not click click) use cammo netting and lightweight aluminium poles - the whole lot is very light and packs down into a bag about the size of a tripod bag. Worth checking out any gun shops near you.

how about a dome hide from wildlife watching supplies, rolls up in a nice little bag that goes over my shoulder weighs about 2.5kg

If your not needing one now, you could try one of ours,Click Me, these are so popular that we sold out more or less straight away, as such we are awaiting new stock.Alternatively we have something else in the pipeline very soon.

frac how much do those pop ups weigh ?

Dunno, none left to weigh. They ain`t heavy though.

Personally, if I need to go mega lightweight,I just take some netting and cobble a hide up with that,as suggested above by others.

i have a bag hide, the main issue i have had is it drapes over you then you have to sit very still, as any movement could scare away your jittery bird/animal.

I have a chair hide, the pop up one with a built in chair, it is ok,but as CT says, it is quite heavy. As it is a single it is also a bit short of room. The four walled ones are a lot better, but then you have to carry a chair as well. The netting is ok if you don`t mind kneeling, lying or sitting on summat wet when it is raining,I use these a lot in the summer.

There is no perfect solution as of yet.I think you have to sit down and think how you are going to use the hide and what for mainly, then make a decision from there.

We will have some new hides soon, when we can find a UK engineering firm that actually want some work..........:bang:

I have a Baghide a total pain to use - your vision is severley limited.
I also have an ameristep doghouse hide - brilliant to set up and use. a bit tricky to take down but highly recomended.

I imported mine but I belive you can get them over here now, I did a quick search and found details below, although I haven't dealt with them, but it shows details
