OK, so I've been using a Crumpler 4000 which I love but now I've got the D300 gripped and have a few lenses I cant get everything in. I think I'll still keep the Crumpler for casual days out but could really do with something that could take:

D300 Gripped
Nikon 18-200mm
Nikon 35mm
Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 105mm
SB600

I know I'm being fussy but the less it looks like a camera bag the better!

I have a slingshot but really dont get on with that over shoulder swing it round malarky. Tend to keep the camera on my Blackrapid strap when I'm walking so its close at hand.

Recommendations hugely appreciated.

Hi Barney, I too am looking for a new bigger bag and have a very similar equipment list to you.

My preference would be a rucksack type bag but not sure I'm that keen on the slingshot. I currently have a Lowepro Rezo 190 (similar size/design to your crumpler I think) shoulder bag which wont fit everything in, doesn't fit any extras, eg laptop, lunch etc etc and isnt particularly comfy for long periods but it does have a more formal look.

I have been looking at the KATA DR-466 or DR-477.
Both bags are well under £100. In fact the 466 can be found for less than £50.
Both appear to be very roomy. From reading on this forum and various reviews, the quality is good as well. And neither look obviously like camera bags (from what I can see from images on web sites, although I haven't seen one in the flesh yet)

Dont know if this is the type of thing your after.

I would be interested in any opinions on these bags from anybody who has any experience of them. (hopefully not hijacking your post Barney)

Thank Rob

I'll take a look a those bags. I'm quite liking the look of the Lowepro Vertex but no room for your sarnies in those!

Anyone else got any suggestions?

Barney

The Vertex looks spot on for all your camera needs Barney but I would say it does look like a specialist bag ie full of expensive gear, dont you think?
Good size though.
I guess any of the bags are gonna give the game away when you've got your tripod strapped to the side of them. ;-)
Think Im going to go for a KATA. Missed a 466 on eBay last night. Went for £36!! It was a toss up between wait in for end of auction or go to the pub and chance it on my iPhone. No 3g in the pub. Hence no eBay win.
Nevermind.
