ball head for tripod?

can you reccomend me some options for ball head for tripod:
which is : quick, stable, smooth, great range of tilt angles

will use with 7d/
mid format

Redsnapper RSH-12 is pretty good, for an excellent price - £50 ish.

Others may have experience of better for more £££

I usually have a look on amazon and read the reviews - though some contradict others.
Use the Amazon filters can help narrow the search, once you find some thing looks ok can always check if local camea shop stocks them.

upto £100/

Still need to know the max weight of kit that's going on the ball head ie camera and lens/ flash. Otherwise it's a bit pointless as all ball heads have different ratings. I'd also caveat any adivce by assuming that the tripod can take the weight of the kit and the ball head.

why a ball-head.......flops all over the place IMO...

if you're into landscapes - try a 3way.

my Giottos as used on a Manfrotto tripod ....''link''...well designed and rock steady

one handle unscrews - then screws into the end of the 'other' handle...

very compact when closed down into the tripod bag

i dont think the weight (of camera+lenses) will be more then 5 kg

Check out the 3LeggedThing ball heads by far the best ball heads I have used. They have friction control to stop the 'slop' that is normally associated with ball heads and also a panning base to keep your horizons straight for panoramas!
