Cracking shots, looks like our wasp spider Argiope bruennichi which has arrived in the UK relatively recently.

Cracking shots, looks like our wasp spider Argiope bruennichi which has arrived in the UK relatively recently.

I am not sure whether it is Argiope Bruennichi or Argiope Trifasciata (the latter seems more likely), as it very difficult to tell the difference unless one is an expert on spiders. I have asked the experts on a local nature forum but have not yet had a reply.
