I do like this , sucker for Barn Owls any way.
Only thing I would try is removing the three horizontal "dashes" below the birds left wing.

Nice shot Toby, works well in b&w. Are you using a hide?

My only crit would be the light patches and the dark background bottom right so I did a quick edit using the clone tool and dodge and burn (I can remove if you want)

I like that edit alot! - I'm planning on doing an edit when I get back to 6th form, they have CS5 so I can have a bash at it too. But I like what you've done there Liam.

Definitly alot less distracting!
