Seems to be a few of these around, 40-150mm sort of range. which, if any, is regarded as top of the pile of the cheaper ones? Obviously not talking about the f2.8's

What camera is it for?

Basically they are all decent and if you don't have in built IS then you want the Panasonic one.

I have the Oly version and it is amazingly good considering the pennies it cost.
 
Well Currys were selling off the Oly 40-150 (in sliver) PLUS a decent little bag for £99 which rendered any decisions obvious beyond belief. Having just checked the deal is finished :(

Personally if you have and will have Oly then try and pick one of theirs up, it is cheap, lightweight and small and has great image quality.
 
Cheers guys, will keep my eyes out for one of those then.....There seems to be two versions, one with an R and one without, presumably the R version is the newer model? I probably wont use it very much, just to have if the need arises :)

The bag fits in it an EM10 with a lens mounted, the 40-150 and two other small primes, a couple of batteries and a few bits and pieces and it is so small you forget you have it with you.

It also fits the EM10 with 12-40 pro attached, a small prime and some bits and bobs too.

I think it's great, considering it was free :p
 
Well, I must say, I can't complain at that. Just a quick grab shot while messing with it yesterday.Shot on the epl-5, RAW at 1600 iso with barely a thing done to it, very impressed for the price it's amazing. It also looks better on my screen than through the photobucket link.

Glad you like the lens Gary. Now beginning to think that I should have hung on to it!! As for the bag, I only opened the packaging to put the lens in it, and I've had it for about a year!
 
Yes, thanks Marcia. I was very pleasantly surprised by it's performance.....In fact I'm pleasantly surprised by the whole M3/4 system....

I was so pleasantly surprised that I have sold pretty much all of my FF Nikon kit, bought both of the Pro lenses and ordered an EM1.

The Pro lenses are amazing - pixel sharp at 100% - and the primes are so good and small that they make the perfect travel system.

It makes me wonder why people bother lugging DLSRs around.
