Yes
I currently have a Fuji X10 which I love, however I am going traveling around China in May so I am reassessing my camera kit before the trip.

I am looking for a smaller form factor and my research seems to suggest that the Sony R100 is about the best compact camera on the market at the moment below £500.

Am I mental to think about changing from the X10 to R100? Looking at the past sales on here the X10 should be worth about £225 so it would cost about £225 on top of the X10 sale to get the Sony brand new. Assuming I can't find one second hand.

Would this be a good jump?

if your looking for pocket friendly then the sony makes sense
but for me no viewfinder would make the switch hard

code SOOUTLET5 will get you 5% off & you could possibly get Quidco or Topcashback too if you use those sites.

What a star!

Is this offer likely to be around for a while? I bought my X10 refurbished from Fuji with no issues. I assume the Sony products are the same?

:D

Honestly, I can live without the viewfinder. It almost takes some of the pressure off as it feels less like serious photography without a viewfinder so I don't mind just shooting from the hip etc :)

No.
It will only be there as long as there is stock of refurbished & generally in the past the RX100s have gone fast.
Similarly the code will have an expiry date.
They carry a full Sony 12 month warranty exactly the same as new - some people think that they are an even better bet as they have been through QA twice! ;)

On the basis of this exact post. I have bought the RX100 :D

X10 is now in the classifieds so hopefully it can find a nice new home soon :)

I had an X10. It was very nice. Now I have an RX100. IMO far better as a travel compact.

I recently bought the RX100 and I'm very impressed, it's capable of producing very high quality images which you'll struggle to tell apart from a DSLR...not quite as good as my DSLR but it's very close. The real advantage it has is that it fits in a pocket and goes everywhere with me.
