Anyone used similiar thing to this:

Looking for something I can carry around and set-up quickly. I have a mini-tripod but that is too fiddly and cannot carry the weight of a SLR.

Just checked the link, it apears to be a standard bean bag:)

They are very useful I have used one many a time and I bought mine off ebay in the UK for approx £8 delivered and it is filled with plastic beads.

I would not be without one always one in the car and often one in the it bag

You could even make your own as a workmate of mine did from an old pair of jeans and filled with rice;)

Thanks - great tip of making my own.
 
Made my own from an old boilersuit pocket and split peas.
 
Bought a double one for about £30, with it's own internal liners then filled it with Asda Smart Price rice (about another 90p IIRC).
