Hi all,

I'm after some advice regarding what would be a good choice of lens for taking photographs of surfing and other such sports. Am really not sure so any advice would be appreciated! Budget is £300 max but ideally cheeper! I'm new to this so don't want to go spending huge amounts of money, not just yet anyway!! :)

Thanks

Have a look at the 2nd hand market, check out Ffordes, Mifsuds, Camtech, MPB, Park Camera's or Digital Depot.... But you'll need something like the canon 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM..... it depends where you taking images from. Are you in the water with the action or on the beach? but your budget is boardline to get something decent, especially if the light conditions aren't in your favour.

Thanks for the input Pete. I do like to try and be more upclose with the action, in the water but only up to about knee height, anything more than that and I start to worry too much about equipment! So basically I do a mixture of beach and more up close!

Was kind of thinking around the 70-300mm lens, obviously know that it will have to second hand with my limited funds! Have seen some go for like £329 so I could perhaps stretch to that, guess I will just have to keep a look out for a good offer!

Limited funds = 70-300mm I would think. The pro's seem to shoot 600mm from the beach, but obviously thats a whole different price point!
