Best Nikon for 15 year old (Picture added)

I love my D5000!
I purposly bought it as a starter camera, but with room to grow into to learn the settings etc.

once I start getting used to photography and prefure faster settings, I'll upgrade to a D90 maybe a D200.

But for now, my D5000 is certainly helping me learn, spesh if you leave it in Manual.

Indeed having owned both Canon and Nikon I seem to recall that every Canon EOS Lens needs a focus motor in it to autofocus too. Why don't folks parrot on about that?

Because all EOS fit lenses have that motor built in. Nikon left the AF motor out of the lower end bodies in order to save weight, size and cost in the bodies so can now charge extra for each suitable lens to fit the cheaper bodies while also excluding many fine, older, cheaper 2nd hand lenses from the choice available to D40(x), D60, D3000 and D5000 owners.

Yet they realesed the 35mm for under two tonne...

And as for Canon lenses fitments, at least when you upgrade a Nikon, you can use all the lenses you have brought...
 
Why does every thread lately turn in to a Canon vs Nikon debate?

What lenses work on what camera has nothing at all to do with Ryan's original question....completely pointless, and damned annoying!! :p
