Yes
Hi Guys,

Off to Paris in a few weeks and would hate to have my camera run out of charge on me, so I am looking to purchase another battery to take out with me.

Where is the best place to pick one up from? I have a 40D.

I'm not bothered if it is aftermarket, as long as people can recommend them.

Thanks.

Got some ones off eBay for £10 delivered for 2 from hong kong. They are 2000 mah so half the power again as the canons and are great. Should be easy to find but if you want the eBay I'd I can look it out for you

7dayshop has non canon and canon ones at decent prices. I recently got an energizer one for my 450 and it tuns out it is rated slightly higher than the stock canon one (should last longer between charges).

Their non canon ones start from about £5 each aswell, cheap as chips.

7dayshop do good compatibles. Very reliable.

7day shop would get my vote too. No issues with any I've had from there.

Cheers

Rob

Why can't you Luke?

The 7D uses chipped batteries, which give you a percentage of power left etc... And have some benefits... But it means third party batteries dont charge with the official canon charger you get with the camera, so you would have to buy a third party charger and batteries. I think there are some 3rd party ones that work but I havent come across them in my brief look for alternatives to 50 pound canon ones

And good luck in Paris, I'd love to go!

Can you vouch for the ones from Amazon? If so... Thank you!

Sorry to be off topic guys I'll take it to PM
Nope. Can't vouch for them at all.... Personally, I'd take a punt on one of the Amazon ones. I think I saw a thread on here where someone had tried one of the compatibles and thought they were OK. Not sure who though....
