Wheels I wouldn't beat yourself up yet. It takes a while to become familiar with a camera and even longer to remember/understand all the possible settings/combinations/ways to use it.
And even then you'll forget something, like resetting the ISO back to 100 from 1600, wrong shutter speed, that you took the battery out for a charge and it's sat in the hotel room whilst you've walked 2 miles away...
Just keep practising and it'll all become familiar.
