Billingham Hadley / Hadley Pro

I currently have a Lowepro rucksack that I use to cart my camera and laptop around but am thinking of getting a shoulder bag that I can use to augment it when I only want my camera and lenses.

Any thoughts on the Billingham Hadley or the Hadley Pro both of which I like the look of?

Or any other recommendations?

I have a Hadley and it's in the attic. I would recommend you have a look at Redsnapper 618.

I have the pro and use it when I don't need a rucksack. Great quality and you can pack quite a bit in. The front pockets for instance will take a 580EX flash in its bag and there is a little gap at the back which will fit my 10" eeepc in its cover. I usually carry a 5D with say a 17-40mm and a couple of other lenses. You can also buy extra pouches to carry additional lenses if required. I have the domke postman shoulder pad as the billingham ones are a bit on the thin side for me.

Perfect if it fits your gear.

I have an e-420, a couple of lenses and a few filters and I'm sure it'd all fit.

Hopefully even leaving a little room for a few odds and ends.

Out of curiosity what colour do you have?

Hi there,

I recently got a Hadley Pro 2nd hand (off Ebay!), having wanted one for ages, but being unsure if it would do what i wanted it to do.

Have to say that i am absolutely delighted with it! The quality of them is superb, they don't look too obviously like a camera bag, and you can get a surprising amount of stuff in them.

Mine carries (all in the main compartment):-

Olympus E420 with standard zoom attached.
Leica M4-P with 35mm attached
Either - Olympus 40-150zoom and 35mm macro (OR 35mm macro, 50mm for the Leica and a lightmeter depending on my mood) I can even chuck in a compact camera too if i want.

The front pockets have a selection of Cokin filters in a wallet, spare film, spare memory cards, extra battery for the E420, cleaning brushes etc

Mine is the traditional tan canvas with brown leather trim. I love it!!

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mike, Coventry.
