I love the photography side of nature, especially birds. However when I go and sit in the hides I'm bored. I've been to the marsh today and the hides were packed. I sat down and had a look around, loads of ducks and waders but quickly got bored and left. Walking back I saw some goldfinches and spent ages watching them and taking photos. Im minutes from the marsh but I need to venture away from this to find more types of birds like the Goldfinch.

I just dont know where to try.

The hedgerows can provide some great birds so take time to stop and listen. Might be best to get to know your local patch and then you'll become familiar with which species are about at times.

Hides can get boring at times, especially if nothing much is happening but then on the other hand, I've met some really nice folks who have been keen to share their knowledge and experiences both on the birdwatching front and photography.

You live in a great part of the country so if you can travel about it, do. You'll have fun.
