Hi, Just had a week in Southern Ireland, did a coach holiday (never again) more time on coach than walking around, anyways no its a way off but looking at Wales for next year (Late Spring/Early Summer) by train or car, have to take into consideration wife is not a photographic person and we are both in our early 70's, so somewhere quite but not to remote with maybe a reserve near at hand.
Would be traveling from Carlisle area.
Thanks for any suggestions. Russ.

Can't recommend a place to stay but the RSPB reserve at South Stack on Anglesey is good. The centre has a large cafe that overlooks the sea and if the weather is good there are lots of places to sit on the rocks and take in the view. The only drawback is if you are not on the island it is about 30 miles from the mainland.

Not sure of your actual plans but if for instance you stayed in Llandudno there’s rspb Conway that has several hides an indoor cafe plus outdoor seating areas . , for the Chester area there’s rspb Burton mere with seating in reception , plus two hides with seating and a new cafe which should be open next year other places tend to be outdoor seating as availble .. you would in reality need to be more specific on where you intend to base yourself . Wales is a big country with pretty good road access but less so by Rail .also wildlife photography tends to be better in winter around the north wales coastline with the influx of spring / summer holiday makers making it better for those with local knowledge
