Birds from Skatie Shore

Took my new 50D down to Skatie Shore, a gorgeous wee bay near Stonehaven to have a go with some Bird photos. I've been trying to get to grips with focusing manually, some of these are a wee bit out of focus, I just need to practise some more with that! Other than the focus, what are you thoughts?

why would you want to manually focus, i think auto focus would of naild all of these shots. from what i can see not one is sharp shame you could of had some nice shots

If you had got the focussing right the oystercatcher pics would have been fine, Chris.

Being OOF really kills the shots for me. Hard to ignore it.

A shame really Chris but you are least not afraid to play about with the camera, which is a good thing Hopefully that place is not too far for you to go back to and do another shoot.
