Bit of advice re DX lenses

the D90 is still a great little camera. cheap now too :)
my mrs has kept hers even after she got the D700 & after looking at some of her old pics with it i can see why :)
did you keep yours "just in case"?

I did, I sold on the 35 f1.8 and kept the tamron. The d90 was my first ever proper camera (complete noobie prior to getting it) and the tamron just got good results. I nearly sold both for 450 a while ago but pulled out at the last min.

Another vote for the 17-55 Nikkor, its an heavy little beast though, depends what you're doing in my opinion, landscapes and general shots the 16-85 looks like a lot more useful length, never used it though so can't comment on its iq. Slower lenses suck for street photography in my opinion though, so with that in mind for my type of work, its got to be the 17-55 nikon or a 3rd party alternative for me. As for primes, I'm always at either end of the zoom, 50's easy enough, I wish they'd pull their finger out and do something fast in the 16 to 18mm range.
