Black Rapid RS-4 & cycling

I've just ordered myself a black rapid RS-4 from eBay. I understand it gets great reviews for general use and walkabout but I go out on the bike a lot and would love to take the camera out more often. Is the strap good and comfortable to use while cycling?

I have a back pack but never take it on the bike and the standard neck strap is uncomfortable regardless what lens is on. Last time out I even lost the eyecup from the 5DII slung over my back while out on the bike.

Er, I posted on another BR thread, about the RS-7 (similar to RS-4, I think). I found it will shorten to be comfortable for cycling, but the excess strap does not tidy away. In terms of use, its annoying having the billowing strap to contend with when picking up the camera for a shot. If I'd have done my homework, I'd have chosen something else (not sure what). It will, however, be an improvement over the standard strap.
