Blackcap enjoying a bite to eat

Happened upon this fellow in a tree right by the path, unfortunately I could not get past without spooking him, I did try after I had taken a few shots, but he flew off.

He swallowed this in one go

Blackcaps apparently have only stayed in Britain during winter in recent years, This proves they can cope if it was taken during this cold spell, And a nice shot.

I really like these little birds but only ever had one as a visitor to my garden back in Wolves.

This is a lovely crisp image, with beautiful light, lovely!

This was taken last weekend at Belvide, a few years back we had a pair regularly visit our garden through the winter.

Might sound daft but I think the twig actually enhances the image rather than detracts, somehow makes it more "natural".
