South-West England Blagdon Lake or Chew Valley Lake

Depending on the weather, I am considering making a trip to either Blagdon Lake or Chew Valley Lake near Bath this coming Sunday morning.

Could someone advise the best areas for wildlife and what species of wildlife there are?

Also, is there an entrance fee and where are the best places for parking?

Google them. I've not been to either but both are owned by Bristol Water and it looks as if to use the hides/paths you need a permit, only issued to members of recognised wildlife groups etc. Hmmm, don't think I'll be going there then............I'm thankful everything round my way is open access.
