Hi,

did some baby photos yesterday and one of them was teething and so her face was very red and dry. can anyone suggest a plug-in, tool or tutorial i can use that will help me get the skin looking fairly normal. i have photoshop CS2 and elements 6.

thankyou

yeah i thought about that and i have emailed the client for permission, not for legal reasons as i know i own the copyright but just for the principal. it basically looks like she has really red cheeks but theres a slight purple tinge and close up you can see the dry skin.

i want to match the skin tone to the rest of her face and smooth it out really.

You can go about this 2 or 3 ways

In PS CS2 you have two tools that would do a good job.

Select the clone tool and changing the mode to lighten, select a fair bit of skin and paint over the other (this lightens the redness)

Or

Select the heal brush, and do as above

Or click the [o] button to go into quick mask mode, and paint the redness with the black paint brush, click out of the quick mask mode, invert your selection, then select colour balance or saturation, and adjust the redness.

You could simply go to Hue and Sat and turn down the red saturation. Depends on how red she it

thanks, ill give it a go
