As I understand Blu-Ray disks hold around 25gb of data which will be great at the moment as I have a lot of photos (raw/pre processed and edited) from a while back (years) that could do with being backed up and put away.

And lets face it a 4gb DVD aint much when your talking in Raw

As far as ime aware home burners are still in their infancy so anyone got one?

if so are they any good? or are they thwart with problems when trying to burn?

are the cd's stupidly expensive? and what are they like for wear and tear?

any info or opinions anyone has openly welcome.

theyve been around for a good year or two so should be fine by now. windows 7 has native BD DATA (not video) burning support.

they dont have issues like DVD does where the layers delaminate over time.

latest prices.. google is your friend

I have one in a 5.25" external enclosure attached by USB to my Mac

Never had a single problem - every disk I have tried to burn has been successful.

They are pretty steep - much more expensive per GB than DVDs.

Don't really know, I use them for backup so they are recorded and put away safe, only to be used when I need to recover data.
