1,3 you moved. I hardly ever use a tripod, so shouldnt comment, but it looks like you need one or to improve your technique if you did use one. At 300*1.4 = 420mm you need LOTs of light to get a 500th shutter or a tripod, or both.

4 yey! Winner. Could do with a crop to remove the mess of the hacked up tree to make the birdy the focus.
Thanks for your comments. I was using a tripod with a loosened ball head and holding the camera to give a bit of stability. The birds were only 2 to 3 yards away and were flitting about backwards and forwards to the feeders. I also took all of these at ISO200, maybe it would be better to up this to give me a faster shutter speed.
