Ok, so I need to get an extendable boom pole for an assistant to get my flash up high above subjects outdoors... However, I cant seem to find anything that will fit the bill.

I have found this product, but my god its expensive for just an extending pole!

Anyone know of a much cheaper solution?

Usually, we just extend a light stand and the assitant just holds it up, but its not a great solution and I am trekking around Papua New Guinea at the end of the year so I want something a bit lighter than a big heavy light stand.

Any ideas?

What about the carbon fibre microphone boom poles that sound people use. The film crew that follow us use them and I would have thought that would be the right kind of thing - lightweight but strong. Other than that what about an extendable roller pole for decorating

It's the standard lighting stand spigot connector, Ed, as the ezybox softbox for speedlights comes with the bracket to attach the light to the softbox.

Has to be a lot cheaper than the adapter mentioned above plus the painters pole (usually a lovely shade of yellow) which may need to be painted.
