Bright torch

It is true. I have the packaging insert from mine here in front of me and it says "Lifetime Guarantee"

If you read the warranty information you'll find it's word play. It's a lifetime warranty in their eyes of what they deem to be a reasonable lifetime for the product which is 2-3 years. Check Ledco website who carry out their repairs.

Actually, it is the fact you can focus a T7/P7 that makes it so damn attractive to a photographer
Right... Whatever suits you, I say enjoy. I was merely offering my experience

Yes, just read that. Anyway, no point in going off topic here. But if I bought one off an LED Lenser web site and they state what they mean by "life" as you did above, then fair enough. But if I buy one from a retail distributor as I did, and the package just states "lifetime warranty" [with qualifying provisions] then they'd find themselves heading for a fight.

As it happens, quite a few of us where I work have LED Lenser torches, and the only one of us who has had a problem had it replaced no questions asked. No receipt, and it was bought in the USA.

Yeah I had no problems with no receipt either in the UK. They must be able to date the product from a serial number and offer a reasonable time frame from when it was likely to have been sold although it can be the case it's been sat in a shop for over a year.

Thing is with a retailer, after 30 days they are not required to do anything in terms of warranty and it gets batted back to the manufacturer.

As I said I have 7 lenser torches, and they get ABUSED, two mainly on my bike P7s rain shine snow ice and offs at 20mph, still 100%, three including one that was seven years old failed due to hard use, none were ever questioned, their lifetime guarantee means that, returned NEW torches next post.

LED Lenser P7 is described as water resistant whereas Fenix LD20 is rated waterproof to IPX-8.

Just checked the warranty from another fenix model and it gives full replacement of products afflicted with manufacturing defects within 15 days of purchase, repair free of charge within 12 months of purchase if problems develop with normal use; if repair is required after 12 months from date of purchase, they will charge for parts.

If the OP is still undecided, then I recommend searching Candlepower forums and also Youtube for reviews etc. There are people on Candlepower who make it a lifetime vocation just to test torches - and on Youtube you can get an idea of the physical product and beam characteristics too. It goes without saying, but there are raving reviews for all makes and models by fanboys and then there are more objective reviews ;).
