British film camera start up

Whatever happened to that start up Business / group that was around several years ago to make a new 35mm film camera in the UK ?.

Do you mean the Reflex?

If so, I suspect it's not happening any longer (although I've not seen anything that definitely states that). The last update of the Kickstarter page was almost two years ago now.

I expect that technical challenges, running out of funding, and probably the covid pandemic, all proved too much. It's a shame really.

I didnt have high hopes. Too many of these things never have a hope (mars one, waterseer ect ect) Shame really, but I doubt it made business sense anyway when you can buy a decent film camera fairly cheap already, and film costs on the up.

A very long time ago, when I was sent on a management accounting course by a kind but misguided employer, one of the lecturers told us that less than one in fifty manufacturing companies get past the start up phase.

I have no idea of the current figures but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it's worse than that now.
